My career in edtech, advertising, and cybersecurity has solved social issues and increased business revenues. In addition, my debut as an author/illustrator specializing in children’s nonfiction, Cicadas Don’t Scream, has sold over 500 copies.
I can’t stress enough the importance of experiencing the world outside our homes and screens. Enjoying nature with all your senses is one of the greatest joys in life. It’s also an amazing school, church, gym, and so much more. This is a hike in Little Cottonwood Canyon, near Sandy, Utah.
There’s nothing more challenging – or rewarding – than being a parent. I love seeing through their eyes and learning with them. I love being a part of their experience with the world, and can’t wait to see who they become. Here we’re sewing together.
John Donne once said, “no man is an island.” We exist to be a part of something bigger, and to learn from one another. Some of my favorite interactions have been with strangers on the bus. When we share or when we listen, we grow. Here we are donating 100 Cicadas Don’t Scream activity books to a DC elementary school.
